I’ve been going to this practice for years but I’m increasingly getting fed up with the “care” I’m receiving. I have to get a new prescription written every month and it seems like they don’t care about getting it to me on time. The last three months in a row I’ve had to go without my meds for a couple of days. This month really upset me though. I submitted the request on Saturday through the portal. After not hearing anything, I called on Wednesday and was told it was still pending and the doctor wouldn’t get to it until Friday. So I had to spend Thanksgiving without my meds. Then to make things even better, I waited all day to get the call that never came. I tried to call them at about 4:45 and got the machine saying that the office was closed! This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional behavior! If I didn’t have to give them a star, I wouldn’t.
While providing pertinent information of tobacco usage Nurse Practitioner vocalized I was referring to Marijuana instead of the obvious cigar/cigarette tobacco. I've had a decade long stretch of not visiting a physician but decided to address some health concerns upon approaching 45 and smoking for over twenty years now...to be treated as a hypochondriac. Perhaps I should just continue to pay my health insurance and never go for a checkup for another ten years. My concerns had been sinus related...minimal and non-life-threatening and easily able to be handled at any other physician across the country (with the exception of Pinnacle Health).
It has become quite frustrating dealing with the practice. Now when you call you are told to go to the portal for everything. They fail to schedule referrals unless you get to the point of harassing. I was told at one point to look in a phone book or Pinnacle's website for the specialist type I was instructed to see by their doctor and to just make my appointment on my own. One of my primary irritations is they are my primary care doctor but you can never get an appointment so they refer you to their urgent care/walk in clinics which I have to pay a higher fee. The other great irritation is they advertise their hours on the doors, which reflect evening and Saturday hours, but if you are lucky and can get an appointment scheduled but it is during the evening or Saturday hours you receive a separate bill in the mail for after hours visit. The bill is $10 - $15 Why isn't it disclosed to you when you call and make an appointment that you will be receiving a separate bill and what the cost will be. The billing is becoming very deceiving. The worse part is the staff can't tell you what is the mysterious cut off time for after hours billing. How is it after hours when their door advertises the hours. If they are contracted to see you under your insurance plan then how can they bill more for service? Make sure you ask questions on their costs, billings etc. We left there one other time because we followed a doctor to a new practice. We returned for the convenience and evening hours. We are considering our options now because the poor service and deceitful billing is just getting to be too much irritation to continue to ignore. Be very cautious and ask questions!
Was given a referal to an allergy doctor. Soonest they could could schedule was 6 months out. I understand certain insurances can be limiting but they showed absolutely zero patient advocacy and had no ideas or recommendations to be seen in a more timely manner. I switched primary care physicians to a different practice and was referred to a different allergy doctor within 2 weeks (with the same insurance).
